Creating multi-color designs with Hix Cookie Cutter Easy-Sheets
The
HIX cookie cutter sheet consists of a sheet of flock paper with the
adhesive already printed on it. This adhesive actually covers the
whole page and enables the flock to stick to whatever it is applied
to. This is a great way to create free form designs with only a pencil,
scissors and an iron.
First,
plan out your design and determine what the design elements and colors
will be. Then sketch them out accordingly. Start by turning over the
flock sheet and tracing your design. For best results, use medium
to large, broad forms that will be easy to cut out. Try to make the
best use of your space to avoid waste.
Begin
cutting out the forms. Make your cuts as clean and precise as possible.
Once
your flock shapes are cut out you can begin arranging them face down
on the substrate. Remember again, which colors and shapes you want
in a particular position. Use the same settings you use to adhere
any HIX flock heat transfer which is 12-15 seconds at 325-350°
at medium pressure.
The
transfers can be peeled hot. Always grab the edge first to avoid the
hot part of the transfer.
Flock
is easy to apply and overlapping of shapes can be part of your design.
If your plan is well worked out you can press several shapes at once
or develop it a piece at a time.
